Yes...looks like Hurricane Irene will certainly have an effect on some areas of Florida. Hopefully, its path ends up being to the east of Florida so that we just get a lot of rain.

I've seen so many hurricanes change so fast...don't put any money on any of these forecasts. Afterall, they're all just predictions.... Hurricane Charlie shifted and came straight thru the center of Fl and effed errrbody up and nobody had A CLUE!

Boy I remember that. Just Tropical Storm Faye was horrible. I have never seen so much rain in my life.

I was living in central Fl when hurricanes  Charlie, Francis, and Jean all came thru Polk county boy oh boy you want to talk about an experience. Waiting in line for HOURS for sand bags. No sheets of plywood left to buy from home improvement stores. Ppl were picking up debris from the first hurricane (like privacy fence sections) and using that to screw to their windows. I watched the aluminum screen enclosure from my second story back porch come out from under the screws into the stucco of the structure, crumble like a tin can in the wind, blow up and over my house rip off the cap of the roof which then allowed all the rain to start pouring down the exterior wall of the house into the house. Water was running down light switches, bathroom exhaust fans. We stayed up in shifts mopping water off the floor and dumping it back out the front door. Had to pop the water bubbles in the ceilings you know...buckets everywhere to dump...had another family stay with us because they lived in a trailer and when cabin fever set in ppl where starting to argue over potted meat and crap...Omgarsh...CRAZINESS!!!!!!!
