Lots of advice in this section. Maybe some feelings getting hurt. One thing I have learned and has been hammered home by people in the know (And by that I mean the legit riders / racers. The guys that are really into machines, not the pretend weekend warriors) is that dynos are not created equal. And those that operate them are even more varied.
The majority of dyno time and tuners does very little to actually help you get the most out of your machine. TPS has a dyno. Yes, it works. Yes they can hook a bike up, roll on the throttle and give you a print out. Can they custom tune your bike on anything but a full throttle tune, highly doubtful. It takes hours and hours of tuning to set a car / bike up right. With power adders like turbos and chargers even longer. (if you want it tuned correctly through the entire range. And why the serious guys can spend weeks if not months fine tuning their machines). Thats why the proper tunes at legit performance shops are so costly and time consuming. The 30second run at Millers won't do anything but give you a rough idea and a printout to go show your buddies at the bar. And any tune that they bang out in an hour or so won't be proper.
Best advice you can take. Want a place to dyno...? Ask the guys at the track. Talk to the guys that take it seriously. The shops that work on, repair and tune track bikes and have a good following know their stuff. The shops that don't have a following, that have been on the verge for some time and are desperately trying to reboot the business to stay alive just don't have the cred to be tuning bikes. Harsh but true. You don't start tuning bikes over night. Especially when you don't actually participate in any high performance hobbies. Selling and repairing machines does not make one a knowledgeable tuner and racer. But its all up to you.
