Burnouts
« on: 11/01/11 02:21PM »
Trying to learn how to do sick a$$ burnouts. Not into wheelies at all, they are definitely respectable , but i don't have the cojones or the lack of desire to live lol.  But i won't to learn how to do burnouts on the line and complete donuts.

Any tips? Anyone going to be at Bike Night tonight, willing to give a brief burnout 101?

Thanks

I'd do the burnout with a tire that you're done with and you're ready to replace it. Otherwise, burning rubber will be equivalent to burning money  ;D

Scuba- He's gonna race and he wants optimum tractionz!  duh!

Basic instructions:  Hold front brake and roll on throttle, let clutch out more than it initially feels liek you should have to, feather clutch and mind your throttle.  Be careful, you can push the front tire instead of spinning the back.

Really?  Do some super sweet burnouts to show all the chumps how you get down on two wheels.  Smoke up the intersection while all the ladies run from the sidewalks and jump out of their cars to try and get with the boss dude smok'n the rear wheel.....

Nothing says "I ride...........LIKE A BOSS" like a smoking back tire while fist pumping to some crazy Dubstep.

Weight forward (lighten up the rear wheel), brake in, revs up, clutch out (bit on the brisk side.  Letting the clutch out too slow can make it grab and slide the front wheel / or burn out the clutch)  Let the clutch out on the quicker side to let the rear wheel let loose.  Then modulate the throttle and clutch to spin it up and bring it back.  Little push down on the bars wouldn't hurt your first few times.  Help ya spin the back instead of launching the bike into the car / wall / person / whatever thats near you.

I'll contribute to this cause I don't want you to wreck your bike and get hurt.  But really?  The future club Pres that is going to run a safe and mature younger riding group wants burnout lessons?   ^-^

Lol thanks guys I think I am going to wait for someone to show me this in person, my paint in too nice and my pockets are too low to launch my bike into some random inanimate object trying to look good.

And yes the future prez wants to learn how to burnout. Burnout = safe stunting vs. Wheelie = reckless stunting. At least in my opinion. And how can i race on the track w/o knowing how to do a basic burnout. lol
